Bollywood stars extend help for Jagiroad boys surgery

JAGIROAD, May 6: Ankit Singh (11), a class VI student of Indus Academy, Jagiroad, has been in news headlines all over the nation. The child is suffering from severe liver problems. The doctors of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, has suggested liver transplantation for which a large sum of money is required.
Finding no other alternative, the parents Amarjit Singh and Sital Singh approach a national news channel and appealed to each and all to extend financial help. Money poured in, including from Bollywood superstars like Shahrukh Khan (12 lakh) and Mithun Chakravarty (10 lakh).
Other than film personalities, politicians and others from various walks of life have also offered help. BJP president Rajnath Singh has contributed 1 lakh for the treatment of the child. Delhi University, premiere medical institute of the country, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and many other institutions have also offered help and support for Ankits treatment. Even Ankits school, Indus Academy, has extended financial help.
Meanwhile, arrangements for the liver transplantation has been completed. Family sources said that Ankit was suffering from stomach pain every now and then. Recently, the pain turned severe and his condition worsened. It was then that he was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.
